Obama and Trump campaign
Former President Barack Obama campaigned for Democrats ahead of the US midterm elections, holding a campaign rally in Ohio to support candidates Amy Acton and Sherrod Brown and later appearing in Michigan to push for Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed. Obama attacked the Trump administration over the Iran war and high consumer prices, saying, "This election is our last best chance to at least rein in some of the foolishness of this administration," and he added, "We need to flip that circuit breaker." Donald Trump cast his early ballot in Florida, and he later planned to head to Georgia to hold a rally for Republican candidates.
Trump also told reporters, "we will see" when asked if Melania Trump would visit Ukraine, after the White House said she "successfully secured" a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine in the Russian-occupied city of Oleshky. The BBC said Obama spoke in Cleveland, Ohio, targeting Trump and his cabinet members and attacking the president for not lowering costs for American consumers while waging war against Iran.

Early voting in Florida
Donald Trump voted early for the November 3 congressional elections at a polling place in West Palm Beach, Florida, near his private residence Mar-a-Lago, and he was accompanied by his wife Melania. Trump wore a sticker reading “I voted” on the lapel of his jacket afterwards, and he told journalists that the “real corruption” exists among the opposition Democrats. RTBF quoted Trump saying, "Everything is fine," as he entered the Palm Beach polling station with the press watching.
DIE WELT said the midterm elections would determine all 435 members of the House of Representatives and 35 of the 100 senators. DIE WELT also said observers fear that if Trump’s Republicans lose the midterms, Trump could again raise accusations of election fraud.
What is at stake
Toutleurope.eu said Tuesday, November 3 is the date when between 175 million and 200 million registered American voters are called to the polls for the midterms. Toutleurope.eu said voters will elect the 435 members of the House of Representatives for a two-year term and will also renew part of the Senate, with 35 seats at stake in 2026 including two in special elections in Florida and Ohio. Toutleurope.eu said the Republicans hold 218 seats in the House of Representatives to 214 for the Democrats, while they hold 53 of the 100 Senate seats.
Toutleurope.eu said the Democrats must gain at least four additional seats in each of the two chambers to take control, and it said a Democrat-controlled House could complicate the passage of laws and the budget. Toutleurope.eu said Cook Political Report classified seven Senate races as particularly uncertain: Alaska, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Michigan, Ohio, and Texas.
