Candace Owens Claims Ben Shapiro’s Security Got Updates From Charlie Kirk’s Team

Candace Owens reignited her dispute with Ben Shapiro and Turning Point USA figures after sharing an X post on July 8 that claimed Shapiro’s security team received updates from Charlie Kirk’s security while Kirk was being taken to a hospital after the September 2025 shooting.

In her post, Owens wrote, “BREAKING NEWS! Ben Shapiro just confessed on his show that while Charlie was being transported to the hospital and bleeding out to death, his security was on the phone with Charlie’s security receiving updates.”

Owens then pressed a timeline question, asking, “Someone explain to me why during the minutes while Charlie was DYING in the back seat of the car, Charlie’s security team was providing updates to Ben Shapiro’s team rather than focusing entirely on saving Charlie’s life and finding the killer?”

The controversy also drew in Owens’ reference to Brian Harpole, a member of Charlie Kirk’s security team who has sued her for defamation over previous allegations regarding the shooting.

Jeremy Boreing and critics rejected Owens’ interpretation, with Boreing saying, “I was responsible for Ben’s security for a decade.”

The dispute over security communications unfolded as AmericaFest opened Thursday in Phoenix, Arizona, where Ben Shapiro told attendees that the conservative movement was “in grave danger” at a gathering organized by Turning Point USA, founded by Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated last September on a campus in Utah.

As Owens continued pressing for further scrutiny of the security-update claim, The Times of India reported that she doubled down a day later with a follow-up post saying, “This is positively explosive. In a live show on the day of Charlie’s assassination he pretended as though he was learning information with the rest us.”

The Times of India also reported that Owens challenged Boreing’s explanation by asking, “Was it Jake and/or Robin of FRG that were on the phone with Charlie’s security in the crucial minutes that Charlie bled out on the way to the hospital. It’s a yes or no question, Jeremy.”

The same account said Owens focused on timing, writing that “The first public post that we can find claiming Charlie Kirk was shot began circulating at 12:32pm,” and it added that she stated, “Ben Shapiro’s show is not recorded live. He pre-records, and then the show is sent through editing and legal. He did not misspeak.”

It also reported that Democratic members of Congress released photos showing Steve Bannon in a long conversation with Jeffrey Epstein during Epstein’s heyday, and it said the White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt described Trump as “a proud founder and undisputed leader of the MAGA movement.”
