Third Anniversary Framing

Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps marked the third anniversary of Operation Al-Aqsa Storm by saying the operation was “the beginning of the end of Zionism” and by describing it as shattering “the myth of invincibility of the Zionist regime’s army.” The IRGC statement said “Three years have passed since October 7, 2023,” and it framed Hamas and Palestinian resistance fighters as having “executed one of the greatest operations in the history of the resistance.”

Sayyid Hadi Saydafqi, an expert on West Asia affairs, told ABNA reporters that the “Thunder of the Aqsa” was a strategic move whose regional and global consequences were “worthy of examination.” Saydafqi said the operation “brought the Palestinian issue to the center of regional and global attention” and challenged the process of normalizing relations with the Zionist regime.

Claims of Captures and Barriers

General Sharif, head of the Intifada and Quds Central Headquarters at Iran’s Islamic Propagation Coordination Council, said Al-Aqsa Storm “shattered this myth” of Israeli invincibility by showing that barriers could be breached “when there is sufficient determination and motivation.” Sharif said the operation targeted around 50 Israeli settlements, with some being captured or coming under the control of the resistance, and he said “thousands of people were taken captive.”

Hezbollah Lebanon, in a statement carried by ISNA, said “Three years have passed since the Al-Aqsa Flood operation on October 7, 2023,” while it argued that debate about narratives and outcomes had not reached a final conclusion. Hezbollah added that the operation placed the Palestinian cause at the center of global attention after years of attempts to marginalize it, and it said the results should be measured by “values, laws, and political impacts.”

Casualty and Ceasefire Claims

The Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as carried by IRNA, marked the third anniversary by asserting that the Storm of Al-Aqsa followed “decades of occupation, blockade, suffering, and slaughter of the Palestinian people.” IRNA cited Gaza Health Ministry statistics on October 5, 2026, saying the death toll was 74,243 and the wounded were 175,232, and it added that since the ceasefire was established in October 2025, “at least 1,460 Palestinians have been martyred and more than 5,116 wounded.”

Hezbollah Lebanon, as reported by ISNA, said the Zionist regime and its Western supporters “have not achieved their strategic objectives,” and it argued that tactical successes could not produce a stable strategic situation. Hezbollah warned that the current conditions could change and urged Palestinian resistance groups to remain “united and cohesive,” while it said the operation “revealed the will and resilience of the Palestinian people.”
