Seven incursions in 24 hours

Israeli forces carried out seven ground incursions and two attacks across the southern Syrian provinces of Daraa and Quneitra over the past 24 hours, with the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reporting intensive drone and helicopter flights on Sunday.

SOHR said an Israeli patrol of three military vehicles entered the eastern Tal Al-Ahmar area in southern Al-Quneitra countryside, while another patrol of six military vehicles advanced near the Kodna Dam.

The monitor also reported that Israeli forces set up a temporary checkpoint and shelled the outskirts of Al-Hamidiyah, and that a patrol of five military vehicles established the checkpoint in Al-Samadaniyah Al-Sharqiyah village where soldiers stopped and searched civilians before leaving the area.

In western Daraa countryside, SOHR reported that a drone dropped two stun bombs on the road linking the villages of Abidin and Al-Aridah in the Yarmouk Basin, near a stone barricade previously erected by residents to prevent Israeli incursions.

During the first half of 2026, SOHR reported that Israeli forces carried out 384 military operations in southern Syria, including ground incursions, raids, searches, civilian detentions, and land-clearing activities.

Shelling and checkpoints, no casualties

Local sources cited by صوت الإمارات said an Israeli force entered the town of al-Samdaniyah al-Sharqiyah, and that two shells landed near the town of al-Hamidiyah causing no injuries.

The same report said an Israeli force consisting of five military vehicles entered the village of al-Samdaniyah al-Sharqiyah, set up a temporary checkpoint within the village, and conducted searches of passersby before continuing its movements.

صوت الإمارات added that Israeli forces stationed at the Hamidiya base targeted the area separating the town of Hamidiya and the city of Salam with a mortar shell and a smoke grenade, and that one shell landed in surrounding farmland with a loud explosion.

In parallel, Al-Jazeera Net said SANA reported that the occupying forces stationed in al-Hamidiya targeted the area between al-Hamidiya and al-Salam with a mortar shell and a smoke shell, noting that there were no injuries.

Al-Jazeera Net also described that a patrol of six military vehicles penetrated the vicinity of the Kodna Dam just before midnight, accompanied by ongoing Israeli drone flights over the area.

Accusations and sovereignty stakes

Syria’s state-linked reporting and regional outlets framed the incursions as continuing violations of Syrian sovereignty, with Anadolu Ajansı saying the incident came amid “continued and repeated Israeli violations of Syrian sovereignty.”

Anadolu Ajansı reported that SANA said Israeli military vehicles advanced toward the Kudna Dam in the central Quneitra countryside while drones flew over the area, and it linked the pattern to recurring raids, searches, arrests, and the establishment of military checkpoints.

The Latest news from Azerbaijan outlet similarly said the convoy moved toward the Kudna Dam while drones conducted aerial surveillance, and it added that neither Israeli nor Syrian authorities reported any clashes or casualties related to Saturday’s reported incursion.

In a separate account, Fana News cited QNA saying Syria called on the international community to assume its responsibility and compel Israel to fully pull out from the occupied Syrian territories, while also asserting that Israel continues breaching the 1974 Disengagement Agreement through ground incursions, home raids and detentions, land-clearing operations, and firing salvos.

Al-Jazeera Net placed the latest movements in the context of the border strip between Quneitra and the occupied Golan Heights after Israel announced the collapse of the disengagement agreement signed with Syria in 1974 and deployed its forces in the demilitarized zone along the Golan Heights.
