July detentions in West Bank
Israeli forces detained 630 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem during July, according to the Palestinians Prisoners’ Society, as the group said the detention campaigns brought the total number of detention cases to more than 25,000 since late 2023.

The Palestinians Prisoners’ Society said the campaigns were accompanied by “escalating crimes and violations, including field interrogations, violent nighttime raids on homes, systematic destruction of property,” and assaults against detainees and their families.
As of July, the Arab News PK report said there were 9,400 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails, including 370 children and 92 women, while administrative detainees had reached 3,198.
The same report said about 1,358 detainees are from the Gaza Strip, and it added that Israel occupied 70 percent of the coastal territory after October 2023.
The Anadolu Ajansı report framed the July arrests as part of “escalating arrest campaigns since the start of Israel’s genocide in Gaza,” and said women, children and former prisoners were among those detained.
Violations, hostage claims, and prisons
The Palestinians Prisoners’ Society said the detention campaigns included “field interrogations, violent raids on homes, systematic destruction of property,” and assaults on detainees and their families.
Middle East Eye reported that the same organization also described cases of family members being held hostage, the theft of money and belongings, and “field executions.”
The Arab News PK report said administrative detainees had reached 3,198 and that there were 9,400 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails as of July, including 370 children and 92 women.
Anadolu Ajansı added that about 9,500 Palestinian prisoners are currently held in Israeli prisons under harsh conditions, and it said dozens had died as a result of starvation, torture and medical neglect, according to Palestinian and Israeli rights organizations.
The Palestine Chronicle reported that Palestinian detainees held at Israel’s Megiddo Prison are enduring “hunger, medical neglect, poor sanitation, and prolonged confinement,” citing the Palestinian Commission of Detainees’ Affairs.
Numbers at risk and what follows
The Palestinians Prisoners’ Society said the total number of detention cases in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, has exceeded 25,000 since the beginning of the war on Gaza in October 2023, and it described the arrests as targeting children, women, and former prisoners.

Yaffa News Network said the number of detainees in Israeli prisons reached more than 9,400 by the beginning of August 2026, including around 370 children and 92 female prisoners, and it said the number of administrative detainees reached 3,198.
The same Yaffa News Network report said the number of detainees from the Gaza Strip was 1,358, classified by Israeli authorities as “unlawful combatants.”
It also warned that prisoners face “torture, starvation, denial of medical treatment, and solitary confinement,” and it said the continued prevention of the International Committee of the Red Cross from resuming prisoner visits increases daily risks threatening their lives.
In parallel, the Palestine Chronicle said more than 100 Palestinian detainees have died in Israeli custody since October 2023, with the identities of 91 announced by the end of June 2026, and it added that detainees face a widespread outbreak of scabies.
