Ceasefire, then shelling
A Palestinian girl died Monday from wounds sustained after being shot by Israeli occupation forces in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis, with Anadolu reporting that Saba Naim Abdullah al-Hashash, 13, “breathed her last” from injuries she received two days earlier.
“Saba Naim Abdullah al-Hashash, 13, breathed her last”
Anadolu said Israeli artillery heavily shelled an area near Al-Tina Street south of Khan Younis and that Israeli tanks opened heavy fire toward the Qizan Rashwan area, also south of the city.

In Gaza City, Anadolu reported that Israeli warships fired toward the city’s coast, with no immediate reports of casualties.
WAFA said the death of Al-Hashash brought the total number of Palestinians killed since the ceasefire that began on October 11 to 1,259, while the number of injured reached 4,139.
WAFA also reported that “A total of 807 bodies have also been recovered,” as Israeli military vehicles opened fire in the Qizan Rashwan area south of Khan Younis.
Local injuries and deaths
In central Khan Younis, the Yaffa News Network said two Palestinians, including a child, were injured on Sunday evening by Israeli army gunfire in the Al-Najjar neighborhood, and that another Palestinian was injured in the Al-Dhahra area west of Khan Younis.
The same Yaffa report said Israeli occupation artillery shelled areas east of Khan Younis, while it cited medical sources that the death toll from the Israeli aggression had risen to 73,386 and the number of injured reached 174,250 since October 7, 2023.
WAFA’s account of the same period placed the girl’s death on Monday, August 10, 2026, and said she was shot several days earlier in Al-Mawasi.
Anadolu described the ceasefire as “in effect since last October,” while also saying artillery shelling and attacks continued in several areas of the enclave despite the ceasefire.
WAFA said Al-Hashash’s death brought the total number of Palestinians killed since the ceasefire that began on October 11 to 1,259, while the number of injured has reached 4,139.
Numbers, recovery, and escalation
Anadolu said the Israeli army continues to target Palestinians in several areas of the Gaza Strip despite the Oct. 10, 2025 ceasefire, killing at least 1,258 Palestinians and injuring 4,139 others, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.
“killing at least 1,258 Palestinians and injuring 4,139 others”
Anadolu also stated that Israel has killed more than 73,000 Palestinians and injured over 174,000 in a genocidal war since October 2023, and that the war has caused widespread destruction affecting 90% of the enclave’s infrastructure.
WAFA, meanwhile, said the death of Al-Hashash brought the total number of Palestinians killed since the ceasefire that began on October 11 to 1,259 and that the number of injured has reached 4,139.
WAFA reported that “A total of 807 bodies have also been recovered,” tying the ongoing toll to the continued recovery of remains.
With the death of Al-Hashash and the injuries reported in Khan Younis, the sources frame the immediate stakes as continued casualties and recovery figures under an asserted ceasefire, alongside ongoing shelling and gunfire in multiple areas.
