Oil sales tied to Hormuz
Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf reposted comments on social media warning that “The equation of this war is clear: either all or none!” and that “In a region where we don’t sell oil, no one else will sell oil either.”
“The equation of this war is clear: either all or none!”
Qalibaf linked the security of the Strait of Hormuz to the absence of “terrorist US troops,” saying “Security of the strait depends on the absence of US forces.”

He said Iran restricted transit through the Strait of Hormuz in response to “the illegal US-Israeli aggression on the country that began on February 28 and came to a halt under a ceasefire on April 8.”
The PressTV account also said Tehran and Washington signed a Pakistan-brokered Memorandum of Understanding on June 17, with Article 5 placing reopening and managing the strait “squarely in Iran’s hands.”
CENTCOM claims and rebuttal
In response to statements by US Central Command Commander Admiral Brad Cooper, ISNA reported that Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf wrote, “In a region where we cannot sell oil, no other country in the region will be able to sell oil either.”
ISNA said Cooper claimed the United States had “fully cleared mines from the Strait of Hormuz” and that around 50,000 US troops were enforcing a naval blockade against Iran while maintaining maritime traffic through the waterway.

ISNA further said Cooper claimed ships had transported “around 750 million barrels of oil from the Persian Gulf over recent months with US assistance.”
The PressTV account framed Iran’s position as a response to US actions including “imposed a naval blockade of the country in violation of the war-ending deal,” and said Iran re-imposed restrictions after “The unlawful US measures prompted Iran to re-impose restrictions on the Strait of Hormuz.”
War equation and infrastructure
A separate report from عاجل quoted Ghalibaf saying, “As long as Iranian infrastructure is not secure, no infrastructure will be safe,” and tied that condition to the “absence of American forces in the region.”
“As long as Iranian infrastructure is not secure, no infrastructure will be safe.”
The same عاجل account said Ghalibaf warned that “the security of the Hormuz Strait is linked to the absence of American forces in the region,” and added that “we have repeatedly said that the Strait will not return to its previous state.”
It also asserted that the United States and Israel began a war on Iran on February 28, 2026, followed by the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, and that an accord to stop hostilities was reached in April 2026.
The PressTV account described a June 17 Memorandum of Understanding whose Article 5 placed responsibility for reopening and managing the strait with Iran, while also saying the US attempted to undermine Iran’s sovereignty by establishing “an unsafe corridor near the Omani shores.”
