Polygon adds TRON support
Polygon Labs extended its Open Money Stack to support the TRON network, aiming to let businesses offer stablecoin payments and cross-border transfers through a single integration. Polygon said the service can move USDT between TRON and supported EVM networks without separately connecting to a wallet provider, bridge and fiat-ramp operator. Polygon said businesses can fund payments with a bank transfer, debit card or cash, receive USDT in a TRON wallet, and later cash out to a bank account.
Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal said, “By connecting TRON to Open Money Stack, we’re giving businesses a way to offer that service through one integration,” and the company framed the product as targeting remittance firms, fintechs and payment companies. Polygon also said the integration does not make TRON a bank and does not remove the licensing obligations of payment firms.

USDT scale and peer use
About 93% of TRON’s $30 trillion stablecoin transfer volume was peer-to-peer in the second quarter, the highest share of any network tracked by CoinDesk. TRON’s USDT footprint figures prominently in the rollout, with Polygon citing more than $94 billion of Tether’s dollar-backed token circulating on TRON and a $30 trillion stablecoin transfer volume. TRON founder Justin Sun said, “Customers expect their assets to arrive where they want them regardless of the blockchain they use to transfer funds,” and he added that connecting TRON to Polygon’s infrastructure would help businesses serve users across different payment environments.
Polygon Labs said its fiat-ramp service uses money-transmitter licenses and compliance systems covering 48 U.S. states, and it positioned the stack as consolidating pieces of a payment flow that had often been handled through separate providers. Polygon Labs also said the integration extends stablecoin payments and cross-border transfer capabilities without requiring businesses to combine banking access, wallets and other orchestration first.

Regulated rails and rollout
Polygon Labs said its fiat-ramp service uses money-transmitter licenses and compliance systems covering 48 U.S. states, and it positioned the stack as consolidating pieces of a payment flow that had often been handled through separate providers. Bitget said Polygon Open Money Stack supports TRON by giving fintechs, remittance providers and payment platforms a way to connect bank funds directly into the world’s largest network for USDT (TRC-20). Polygon described the stack as bringing licensing, sponsor banks, wallet providers and cross-chain routing infrastructure together through a single integration rather than requiring businesses to assemble those components independently.
Polygon Labs said it began assembling Open Money Stack through its pending acquisition of Coinme and acquisition of Sequence, and it said the TRON support marked the first phase of TRON support across Polygon Open Money Stack. Polygon Labs also said the expansion does not turn TRON into a bank and does not remove the licensing obligations or regulatory responsibilities of payment providers.
