Strategy restarts Bitcoin buys
Strategy bought 950 Bitcoin for $75.7 million between September 14 and September 20, bringing its holdings back to exactly 846,000 BTC. Michael Saylor disclosed the transactions on X, saying Strategy held 846,000 BTC and $6.09 billion in USD assets as of September 20. Strategy reported an average purchase price of $79,670 per Bitcoin, and it said its total cost basis now stands at about $63.8 billion, or roughly $75,416 per BTC.
Strategy also spent another $174 million to repurchase 1,771,238 shares of its STRC preferred stock alongside the Bitcoin purchase. Strategy said it did not sell any MSTR shares through its at-the-market program during the week.

Cash, reserves, and Saylor
Strategy funded the latest Bitcoin purchase with its USD Cash balance, and it reported USD Cash at $1.05 billion as of Sept. 20.
Strategy reported USD Reserve at $5.04 billion as of Sept. 20, after using $57.4 million from USD Reserve to cover preferred dividends and interest.

Strategy said it still had $875.1 million available under its preferred-stock repurchase program and $1 billion authorized for MSTR common-stock buybacks.
Michael Saylor posted Strategy’s acquisition tracker chart on X with the caption “A little more orange,” a signal that has historically preceded purchase announcements.
Strategy’s filings also showed that it reported no sales under its at-the-market offering programs between Sept. 14 and Sept. 20, meaning it did not raise funds through those facilities during that window.
Preferred stock buybacks continue
Strategy repurchased 1.77 million STRC preferred shares for around $174 million during the same week as its 950 BTC purchase. Strategy reported that STRC rose 0.35% to $98.85 during Monday’s pre-market trading, while Strategy continued repurchasing its STRC preferred stock. Strategy said it used $57.4 million of its USD Reserve to fund the payment of dividends on its preferred stock and interest on its outstanding indebtedness during the same period.
Strategy’s latest transactions returned its Bitcoin holdings to a level it had already reached earlier this year, after holdings fell to 840,447 BTC following the sale of 1,690 BTC in August. Strategy said it continues to control more than 4% of Bitcoin's eventual 21 million coin supply, while it allocates substantial capital toward STRC repurchases as well as Bitcoin accumulation.
