Blast injures soldiers in Kafra
Five Lebanese soldiers were wounded on Sunday when a suspicious explosive device detonated in the southern town of Kafra as their military vehicle escorted local residents through the volatile Bint Jbeil district, according to a statement by the Lebanese army.

The Lebanese army said a specialized unit determined the blast was caused by a "suspicious object" and that the investigation is ongoing, while the Palestine Chronicle similarly described the explosion as occurring while one of its vehicles was escorting residents in the town.
Ici Beyrouth reported that the explosion damaged two Lebanese army vehicles in the Bint Jbeil District and wounded five servicemen lightly, matching the five-soldier injury figure.
The incident was framed alongside ongoing Israeli military operations across southern Lebanon, with Ici Beyrouth adding that phosphorus shells were dropped on the Ali el-Taher hill and homes were set on fire in Majdal Zoun.
In the same reporting stream, the Tehran Times said the incident underscored the intensifying collapse of the nominal ceasefire in southern Lebanon under Israeli military aggression, linking the blast to a broader pattern of attacks and shelling.
Competing narratives and claims
Ici Beyrouth said local reports initially stated that an Israeli drone had targeted a civilian car in Sarbine, but the Lebanese army clarified after investigations by its specialized unit that the explosion had been caused by a suspicious object and that investigations were continuing.
The Tehran Times described the incident as condemned by many as a deliberate attack and said occupation forces have weaponized the truce to systematically expand their footprint, flattening border villages and conducting sweeping machine-gun operations.
In a separate account, the Palestine Chronicle Staff wrote that the blast came as Israeli occupation forces continued military operations across southern Lebanon in violation of the US-mediated ceasefire framework.
Ici Beyrouth also reported that the Israeli army announced the completion of the 401st Brigade's mission after eight months of operations, with the brigade deployed under the command of the 91st Division.
The same Ici Beyrouth report said the Israeli army stated it destroyed more than 1,200 Hezbollah facilities, including underground tunnels extending over several hundred meters, while also saying it seized more than 600 weapons and killed more than 60 Hezbollah fighters during these operations.

It also reported that the United Nations expressed alarm over devastation and warned that systematic targeting of civilian and cultural assets deepens an already severe humanitarian crisis.
Ici Beyrouth added that Israeli operations continued on Sunday in several sectors of South Lebanon, including new explosions and air strikes, and it listed drone activity over Beirut and its southern suburbs.
Against that backdrop, the Tehran Times said the Lebanese resistance had actively confronted invading units on the ground, ensuring that enemy forces pay a heavy price for any territorial encroachment, and it cited previous clashes that inflicted significant casualties on elite Israeli special units such as the Egoz commandos.
