Travala Launches Travala Travel MCP Protocol With AI Agents And Gasless USDC Payments On Base

The protocol is designed so software agents can handle searching, booking, and paying for accommodations, with the final authorization stage left to the user.

Travala said the system runs on Base and uses the x402 payment standard to enable direct USDC transfers between applications, APIs, and digital agents.

Bitget’s coverage put the average cost at approximately US$0,01 per booking and said Base infrastructure enables payments without gas fees.

Travala also described an AI-powered travel concierge that can organize complete itineraries in a single conversation while maintaining context across searches, bookings, and cancellations.

MEXC said the Travel MCP went live on June 4, 2026, on Coinbase’s Base blockchain and described it as a move from crypto-enabled booking that required human confirmation screens to fully autonomous booking.

MEXC said the protocol handles the process end to end without human intervention and that transaction costs sit at roughly $0.01 with near-instant settlement using USDC stablecoin.

The protocol runs on Coinbase’s x402 payments standard, which MEXC said launched in May 2025 to support stablecoin transactions for AI agents.

MEXC reported that ERC-7715 session keys let users set specific signing permissions for AI agents, and that ERC-8004 makes every transaction machine-verifiable.

MEXC also said Travala is offering a 10% rebate in cbBTC tokens to developers who successfully integrate AI agents into the platform.

Cointelegraph said Travala’s setup uses ERC-7715 session keys so the AI agent can request a payment while keeping final signing authority inside the traveler’s wallet.

The company said the protocol can maintain context across searches, bookings and cancellations in a single chat thread, and it reported that it covers more than 2.2 million hotels.

Cointelegraph added that Travala is offering developers a 10% Coinbase Wrapped BTC (cbBTC) rebate on completed stays booked through its agents.
