Tulsi Gabbard Releases ODNI Documents Alleging Fauci Funded Wuhan Lab Research

Outgoing Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard released never-before-seen communications and documents that she said expose Dr. Anthony Fauci’s role in funding coronavirus research and influencing intelligence assessments about COVID-19’s origins.

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence said the materials allege Fauci “provided millions in US taxpayer dollars to fund dangerous gain-of-function research on bat coronaviruses at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV).”

Gabbard said the documents were the result of a yearlong declassification review ordered under President Donald Trump’s transparency mandate, and she released them on her last day as DNI.

The ODNI press release also said the documents include communications and whistleblower testimony alleging retaliation for challenging intelligence community manipulation of intelligence on the virus’ origins.

In the same ODNI release, Gabbard said the American people deserve “transparency, truth, and accountability.”

Gabbard alleged the correspondence contradicts Fauci’s 2024 testimony to the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, where she said he denied knowledge of or participation in discussions with intelligence officials about viral research.

In the ODNI release, Fauci was described as repeatedly dodging questions before stating, “not to my knowledge about COVID,” during the 2024 hearing.

The Washington Examiner reported that Gabbard said Fauci “steered the intelligence community away from investigating United States-funded coronavirus research in China.”

Gabbard also accused Fauci of using relationships within the intelligence community to “shield him from scrutiny,” and she said the documents show how intelligence personnel were guided toward a natural-origin explanation.

The Anadolu Ajansı report said Gabbard alleged Fauci “lied to Congress while under oath in 2024,” and it said ODNI claimed some communications conflict with Fauci’s 2024 congressional testimony.

The ODNI release gave examples including that “A contractor was terminated just days after coming forward to ODNI as a whistleblower,” and it said managers reminded analysts that leadership would determine promotions.

In the ODNI materials, Gabbard said senior leaders removed anonymity from the complaint process by insisting managers or attorneys be present during ODNI meetings, creating “an atmosphere of intimidation.”

The National Desk reported that Gabbard said whistleblowers reported retaliation for challenging intelligence community manipulation, and it said ODNI announced the release of the documents on its website on Thursday.
