Khamenei urges students
Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei issued a message on the reopening of schools and universities, urging students to pursue knowledge, skills, and ethics as a defense tool against the US and Israel. Ayatollah Khamenei told students, “power rooted in knowledge and coupled with piety and morality serves as an “iron shield” capable of countering the aggression of the United States and Israel.”
Ayatollah Khamenei said the absence of some students, professors, and teachers would be felt as educational institutions reopened, and he linked that grief to “the struggle between good and evil and the battle between truth and falsehood.” Ayatollah Khamenei also urged students to safeguard national identity and cultural independence, including the Persian language and the symbols of the Islamic Republic, while developing critical thinking and creativity.

Ayatollah Khamenei’s message marked the start of the new academic year by calling on students to remember those killed from Iran’s school and university communities. PressTV said the Ministry of Education reported that the US-Israeli attacks since February 28 have killed 296 Iranian students and more than 65 teachers.P

Ayatollah Khamenei said students should train themselves to think correctly and to innovate, while remaining guardians of national identity, cultural independence, and the mother tongue.
Ayatollah Khamenei praised teachers and university professors for educating successive generations, and he said their contribution deserved greater recognition. Ayatollah Khamenei acknowledged concerns over teachers’ livelihoods and expressed hope that effective measures would be taken to improve their economic conditions.
