Android 17 rolls out
Google has released Android 17, with the stable version starting its rollout on Pixel phones on Tuesday, June 16, and accompanied by a Pixel Drop and a new version of Wear OS on Pixel Watches.

Ars Technica says the official Android 17 build is starting its rollout on Pixel phones with “a small set of new features and laying the groundwork for the future,” while other device makers will include versions of some features when they update later.
The Verge describes Android 17’s headline interface change as “new floating ‘Bubble’ app windows for easier multitasking,” alongside a Screen Reaction recording mode and a 50/50 split gaming mode for foldable phones.
Tech Times similarly frames the launch as a Pixel-first rollout, noting that Gemini Intelligence is “set to debut later this year,” even as other Android 17 features arrive now.
