Pixel 11 event confirmed
Google has officially scheduled its next Made by Google hardware event for Wednesday, August 12, live from New York City, with the keynote kicking off at 6:00 PM ET (3:00 PM PT).

The invite imagery described by Ars Technica shows a Pixel phone that looks like last year’s model, while Ars also points to a rumored rear-facing “Pixel Glow” notification and status light.
Multiple outlets expect the event to cover four Pixel 11 models—Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, a larger Pixel 11 Pro XL, and the revamped Pixel 11 Pro Fold—alongside the Pixel Watch 5 series.
PCMag says Google sent invitations for a New York City event on Wednesday, Aug. 12, at 6 p.m. ET, and it frames the night as “the night the next generation of Pixel arrives,” while also noting the company is expected to debut the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, and the Pixel 11 Pro Fold.
Digital Trends adds that Google’s event is scheduled for August 12, 2026, and says it kicks off at 6 PM ET in New York City, with the invite showing a gold metal frame.
Design tease and Pixel Glow
The event’s teaser animation, as described by Chrome Unboxed, prominently features a shiny gold metal frame and a familiar horizontal camera visor, paired with a tagline teasing the “next generation of Pixel.”
Digital Trends says the Pixel 11 Pro isn’t getting a dramatic overhaul and describes “Pixel Glow” as an RGB LED lighting feature that surfaced in leaks earlier this year, even though it doesn’t appear in the invite image.
Ars Technica similarly highlights the rumored “Pixel Glow” lights as a rear-facing notification and status light, while also noting that recent reports claim Google is doing away with the base 128GB storage option for the smaller phones.
MacRumors adds leaked CAD renders that suggest slimmed-down bezels, a slightly thinner design than the Pixel 10, and an updated all-black camera bar, and it says the Pixel 11 Pro Fold is expected to be about 10.1mm thick when folded and 4.8mm thick when unfolded.
Notebookcheck reports that the Pixel Glow RGB lighting isn’t visible in the image yet but says it could be hidden beneath the black glass cover of the camera module.
Pricing pressure and storage shift
Across the coverage, the biggest pre-event question is whether the Pixel 11 lineup will cost more, with Ars Technica tying potential price increases to an “AI-driven component shortage” and a shift away from the base 128GB option.

Ars Technica reports that the Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro would start at 999 and 1,199 euros respectively, and it says the Pixel 11 Pro XL and Pixel 11 Pro Fold are also getting 100 euros more expensive at the base 256GB level.
MacRumors likewise says a leak out of Europe suggests a €100 price increase across all new Pixel smartphones compared to the prior pricing, and it frames the change as Google making the same move as Apple by cutting 128GB and starting at 256GB.
Tom's Guide describes a storage-tier change where Google may drop the 128GB storage option and offer 256GB as the base version, while also saying it seems that in the E.U. prices are going up by €100 for every model.
Notebookcheck provides a full set of expected European prices, stating that even the cheapest Google Pixel 11 will cost €999, the Pixel 11 Pro is expected to cost at least €1,199, the Pixel 11 Pro XL €1,399, and the Pixel 11 Pro Fold €1,999.
