Airstrikes in Khan Younis
The IDF said a Hamas Nukhba Force member, Ismail Ibrahim Darwish Qandil, was killed in an Israeli strike in the Khan Younis area of the southern Gaza Strip on Monday, after the military said he invaded Israel on October 7 and took part in the killing of Nahal Brigade commander Col. Yonatan Steinberg.

The IDF said the strike came after Qandil had been involved in advancing attacks against Israeli troops and civilians and in efforts to rebuild Hamas’ military capabilities, which it described as a systematic violation of the ceasefire, and that he was killed “to remove the threat he posed.”
In a separate account, The Times of Israel reported that an Israeli airstrike in the northern Gaza Strip on Thursday morning killed a family of four, including two children, in the Beit Lahia area, and identified the two child victims as girls aged 12 and 8 at Shifa Hospital in Gaza City.T
The IDF told The Times of Israel that the strike had killed Muaman Abd al-Rahman Ahmad, “a military operative who took a direct part in fighting against IDF troops,” and said it had issued a warning “to allow civilians to evacuate the structure” before carrying out the strike.T
The Times of Israel also said the IDF and Shin Bet destroyed three Hamas weapons depots in Israeli strikes on Wednesday, and that the military said the sites were used by Hamas to store firearms, explosive devices, anti-tank rockets, and other equipment.T
Ceasefire violations and injuries
Despite a ceasefire in effect since October 2025, Al Jazeera reported that Israeli warplanes carried out an air attack overnight on Thursday in the vicinity of Kamal Adwan Hospital, killing a Palestinian man, his wife, and their two daughters, and an Al-Shifa hospital official told AFP that “the bodies of four members of the Ahmad family were recovered in pieces.”A
Al Jazeera also said Israeli drones targeted a group of Palestinians in the al-Daraj neighbourhood east of Gaza City, wounding three Palestinians including one critical case who arrived at Al-Shifa Hospital, and it quoted correspondent Shadi Shalhoub saying, “There is a complete collapse in the health system.”A
In parallel, A News reported that seven Palestinians, including two children, were injured Wednesday in Israeli attacks targeting a residential area in northern Gaza Strip and displaced Palestinians in Khan Younis in the south, and it said a Palestinian girl was injured when an Israeli strike hit a multistory residential building in the Al-Shati refugee camp after residents were ordered to evacuate a residential block.
A News further reported that Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement have killed 1,358 Palestinians and injured 4,541 others since it took effect, citing the latest figures released by Gaza's Health Ministry on Wednesday.
Muslim Network TV, citing Gaza’s Health Ministry, similarly said 1,358 Palestinians have been killed and 4,541 injured in Israeli attacks since the ceasefire began, and it described the attacks as occurring across Gaza City in the north and Khan Younis in the south.
Commanders killed, war continues
The Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades announced the death of Mohammed Abdul Salam al-Yazouri, a commander of the Khan Yunis Brigade affiliated with the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, saying he was killed on Thursday evening in an Israeli strike, and France 24 reported that he played a prominent role in planning the attack of October 7, 2023.

France 24 also said the Israeli army reported that the strike that targeted al-Yazouri killed two other Hamas leaders, and it noted that Hamas had not yet commented on this as the bombardment continued despite efforts by the United States to salvage a ceasefire announced last year.
Al Jazeera Net reported that Qassam said al-Yazouri, nicknamed Abu Haitham, was martyred last evening, Thursday, and it quoted the Israeli army statement that “Al-Yazouri was responsible for directing Hamas fighters to push and carry out plans against the army and Israelis.”A
In the same reporting stream, Daily Post Nigeria said Hamas announced the death of the commander Muhammad Abdul Salam al-Yazouri in an Israeli airstrike in the southern Gaza Strip, while the Israeli military confirmed carrying out an airstrike in Khan Younis overnight and said it had yet to independently confirm the identities of those killed.
Across the conflict’s broader tally, The Times of Israel said the war between Israel and Hamas has killed over 73,400 people in Gaza over the past three years, including more than 1,330 since the October 2025 ceasefire, according to the Hamas-run health ministry in the enclave, and it added that the IDF believes Hamas’s overall toll is largely accurate while estimating that two to three civilians were killed for every slain terror operative.T
