Warnings as tensions rise
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei responded on Saturday to recent remarks by the King of Bahrain, reaffirming Iran’s commitment to good neighborliness while strongly criticizing Manama’s foreign policy alignment.

Baghaei addressed statements reportedly made by the Bahraini monarch, who had urged Iran to refrain from attacking Bahrain out of gratitude for Islam—introduced by Arabs—bringing spiritual depth to Iran.
In a statement shared on social media, international affairs analyst Seyed Mohammad Marandi issued a severe warning to multiple U.S. allies in the Middle East, threatening sweeping retaliation if Iran’s civilian infrastructure is attacked.
Mohammad Mokhber, a senior advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader, warned against targeting Iranian infrastructure, declaring, "You calculate with military equations, but we respond with the logic of history."
The U.S. Department of Defense updated its casualty figures for overseas operations, reporting an increase of 32 wounded service members within a single day, raising injured personnel from 236 on July 30 to 268 on July 31.
Retaliation plans and energy
A senior Iranian security official warned that Tehran has prepared extensive retaliation plans if the U.S. or Israel targets Iranian infrastructure, calling American media reports of prospective strikes "madness."
The official said, "We have prepared a wide-ranging response plan targeting critical infrastructure of the Zionist regime and U.S. energy assets in the region, and we are ready for it," as Iranian media framed the threat as a response to attacks on infrastructure.
The Al-Najah News report said Iran’s Foreign Ministry warned there are "clear indicators" of premeditated American planning to what it described as "renouncing commitments and violating Iran's sovereign rights in the Strait of Hormuz," and called on the United Nations Security Council to intervene.
In parallel, the Al-Najah News report said Nour News warned that American media reports about targeting Iran's energy infrastructure could increase the chances of the confrontation widening, impacting global energy security.
Deutsche Welle Persian News Desk also relayed that the New York Times reported federal officials in the United States consider the Iranian regime the primary suspect in cyberattacks on U.S. water systems in several states.
Strikes under discussion
American and Israeli preparations for strikes on Iran’s energy infrastructure were described by CBS News sources as potentially beginning early in the week, with President Donald Trump not yet giving final approval to carry them out.

Axios quoted an American official saying Trump is seriously considering attacking energy targets in Iran in the coming days, but he has not issued final orders, while a Pentagon spokesperson told CBS that the Defense Department stands ready to execute President Trump's directives at any time.
Iran warned of the consequences, with Tasnim News Agency quoting a senior Iranian official saying Tehran has prepared a comprehensive plan to respond to any possible American attack.
In the same reporting, a senior Iranian official described reports of possible American and Israeli strikes on Iran's infrastructure as a path of recklessness, and Tasnim said the Iranian response plan could include targeting Israel's vital infrastructure and the United States' energy infrastructure in the region if Iranian energy facilities are attacked.
Haaretz reported, citing a Wall Street Journal article, that the United States and Israel are preparing for a broad attack on Iran in the coming days, while an Israeli source said Israel was not aware of any decision to resume military operations and had not been asked to join any new operation.
