Bloomingbit also emphasized that “No U.S. Confirmation” was available as of publication, while Al-Manar TV Lebanon’s live feed repeated the Iranian Army announcement about the MQ-1 drone over Bandar Abbas.
In contrast, iranjib described the event as “Disabling MQ-1 Drone in the Sky Over Bandar Abbas,” stating that the Army Air Defense Force systems hit and destroyed a single MQ-1 aggressor drone.
Iranians’ official messaging in iranjib said the operation was carried out with successful firing of air defense systems under the country’s integrated air defense network, but it still did not provide further details on the drone’s mission.

The drone incident was reported amid broader Iran-U.S. and regional tensions, with CNBC describing an exchange in which the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said its “new advanced aerospace defence system” intercepted and destroyed an advanced MQ-1 drone over the Hormuz strait.
