Infiltration Sparks Strikes
A violent Israeli escalation unfolded in the Al-Ketiba area and in Anṣar West of Gaza City on Tuesday after an Israeli special force was detected infiltrating around the American Hospital, triggering heavy air bombardment and gunfire from drones and helicopters. Al-Jazeera Net said Israeli media reported that the special force was using a bus and motorcycles when it fell into an ambush while attempting to storm a cafe complex adjacent to a United Nations staff housing area near the American Hospital, leading to a heavy exchange of gunfire.
Palestine Chronicle reported that heavy clashes and Israeli bombardment followed an Israeli special force infiltrating western Gaza City and being discovered, with the area surrounding Al-Katiba hit by a succession of Israeli strikes. Palestine Chronicle also said Palestinian ambulance and emergency services reported casualties from Israeli drone fire and airstrikes around Al-Katiba, and that a medical source told Anadolu news agency that Israeli aircraft bombed the Al-Katiba area, killing at least one Palestinian and wounding several others.

Al-Jazeera Net quoted Ismail Al-Thawabteh, the general director of Gaza’s Government Media Office, saying a special force affiliated with the Israeli occupation tried to carry out a security mission in Gaza City, but was exposed during its operation. In the same account, Al-Jazeera Net reported that Al-Thawabteh said Israeli aircraft launched a series of intensive and violent raids in the area, resulting in the martyrdom of several citizens and injuries to others, while also noting the death of several members of the special force.
Al-Jazeera Net also described Israeli army framing, saying it attacked targets in the Gaza Strip to ‘‘remove threats’’ to security forces, noting no injuries among its ranks. Palestine Chronicle characterized the unfolding in the Al-Katiba area as a “massacre,” citing Palestinian sources on Telegram, while also reporting that the attacks brought the confirmed death toll from Tuesday’s Israeli strikes to at least two.
Casualties, Trapped Civilians
Al-Jazeera Net said a source at Al-Shifa Hospital reported that a Palestinian was martyred and others were wounded by Israeli drone aircraft fire in the Ketiba area, while local sources said the shelling targeted several sites and vehicles around the area. The same report added that activists and local residents spoke of at least 12 Israeli raids within minutes, and that efforts continued to reach the site and retrieve those inside after targeting two vehicles on streets surrounding Napoli Restaurant.
Palestine Chronicle reported that MoH said at least, eight people have been killed including children and many others injured in Israeli attacks west of Gaza City, and that the attacks brought the confirmed death toll from Tuesday’s Israeli strikes to at least two. Palestine Chronicle also said the escalation came amid continuing Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement that took effect in October 2025, and that Gaza’s Health Ministry said Israeli violations since the ceasefire took effect have killed more than 1,320 Palestinians and wounded more than 4,385 others.
