Strikes Kill Civilians
An Israeli airstrike hit near a bakery in Deir Al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip on Sunday, killing two Palestinians including a three-year-old boy, according to Palestinian health officials.

Reuters reported that medics said the airstrike killed one man, Hussam Nusair, and a three-year-old boy, Tayyem Hamdan, and wounded several others.
In western Gaza City, an Israeli strike hit a vehicle, killing Mohamed Abu Selmia said it killed Youssef Akila and his daughter Wafaa and wounded six others, according to health officials.
The attacks came despite an October 2025 U.S.-backed ceasefire that halted major fighting but failed to end strikes by the Israeli military, which it said aimed to thwart attacks by Hamas and other militants.
Competing Claims
Gaza medics told Reuters that an Israeli airstrike near the Fida’ al-Balah bakery killed a man named Hussam Nasir and a boy named Tim Hamdan, while the Israeli army said it targeted a fighter from Hamas and managed to eliminate him.
The Israeli army also said its forces in the southern region remain deployed at their positions in accordance with the agreement and would continue to respond to any threat, while Hamas did not immediately comment on the strike.
In Gaza City, EFE reported that Israel bombed near midday the courtyard of a home in the western area of the Gazan capital, killing two people, and that a drone launched a missile against a vehicle in the Tel Al Hawa neighborhood, killing three more people.
Amjad Abu Abdo, a relative of one of the people killed, told Reuters, "There is no ceasefire. There has not been one good day in Gaza since October 7, [2023]," and said, "I swear, we do not sleep from the sound of drones."
Humanitarian Stakes
Al Jazeera reported that Israeli strikes killed at least seven Palestinians across Gaza, and that an Israeli military strike overnight into Tuesday destroyed a warehouse storing nutrition supplies intended for children, pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers, according to Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP).A

MAP said the explosion caused large sections of the building to collapse, including the roof and walls, completely burying supplies beneath the rubble, and MAP added that humanitarian workers, humanitarian facilities and the supplies that people depend on must be protected.
In Gaza, Dr Munir al-Bursh, Director-General of Gaza’s Ministry of Health, warned that only 12 oxygen stations remain operational out of around 34 and said, "If this oxygen supply stops, these people will die," according to Al Jazeera.A
The same Al Jazeera report said that since the ceasefire went into effect last October, about 1,300 Palestinians have been martyred in the Gaza Strip, and it described the continued escalation of attacks and ceasefire violations as conditions on the ground remain extremely challenging.A
