Ground escalation in Quneitra
Israeli occupation forces continued ground incursions and raids in southern Syria’s Quneitra Governorate, including a raid on a house in the village of Al-Asbeh where a force affiliated with the occupation army fired in the air to terrify residents before withdrawing.

Al-Jazeera Net reported that the pace of Israeli military movements inside Syrian territory is increasing almost daily, with occupation forces relying on temporary checkpoints, inspecting pedestrians, raiding residential houses, and photographing residents’ personal identities in border villages.
Syrian Foreign Minister and Expatriates Minister Asaad Shibliani confirmed during a press conference in Damascus with his Danish counterpart that Syria is “attached to the option of a diplomatic solution, and to its demands for a full return to the 1974 Armistice Agreement,” and said Israeli statements about not withdrawing occupation forces from Mount Hermon represent “a explicit declaration to entrench the occupation.”
The same report said Shibliani pointed to “65 incursions in July alone” and “52 incursions in the first 18 days of August,” alongside “147 arrests since the beginning of the year, 49 of whom are still in detention,” and added that house raids in Quneitra occurred in the Damascus countryside.

In parallel with raids in Quneitra, Israeli forces expanded military movements across Rural Damascus and Daraa, with a Syria Now reporter saying Israeli occupation forces set up a military checkpoint at the junction of Ain al-Nouriyah village in northern Quneitra after a convoy of 6 tanks and armored vehicles entered the Tel Ahmar area near the village.
Sajal, a specialist monitoring center, confirmed an invasion of Israeli forces into Tel Bat al-Warda near the town of Beit Jinn in the western countryside of Damascus, while Syria Now reported Israeli forces fired last night toward the homes of civilians in Mu’arriyah in western Daraa.
In New York, Syria’s representative to the United Nations, Ibrahim Alabi, warned that undermining Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity poses a direct threat to the international system, stressing that sovereignty and national territory are non-negotiable and urging adherence to international law, the UN Charter, and the 1974 disengagement agreement.
Alabi also warned that Israeli attacks undermine the Syrian government’s efforts to combat terrorism and captagon, facilitate refugee return, and achieve economic recovery, while Al-Shibani in a tweet on X praised what he described as the “swift response of the international position supporting the Syrian Arab Republic in the face of ongoing Israeli violations.”
Detentions, entrenched presence
As Israeli operations intensified, Tehran Times described artillery shelling around Beit Jinn and Bat al-Warda Hill for three consecutive days, and said on Sunday “seven shells struck Harboun Hill,” while farther south in Quneitra province an armored column featuring three tanks, twelve military vehicles, and over ten armored personnel carriers advanced into Tal Ahmar.

The same report said Israeli forces set up ten permanent positions deep inside territory designated as a demilitarized buffer under the 1974 Disengagement Agreement, and it cited United Nations observers recording “49 such detentions of Syrian citizens since the escalation began.”
In Damascus, Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani reiterated that Syria rejects Israeli violations of its sovereignty and condemned Netanyahu’s encroachment, saying in a post on X that “Syria clearly and responsibly affirmed before the UN Security Council its rejection of any violation of its sovereignty.”
The Islam Times report added that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented “1,004 incursions as of August 29,” and said the observatory confirmed the Israeli movements are accompanied by detention of civilians and inspection and verification of residents’ identities, alongside land leveling and excavation operations and the construction of fortifications and military sites.
