CoinDesk reported that investors held around 295 million dollars in tokenized shares, citing blockchain data from RWA.xyz, while the company said the tokenized shares represent the same common stock that trades on the NYSE rather than a separate class.

In its NYSE debut announcement, PR Newswire said Securitize’s common stock begins trading today on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol SECZ and that eligible U.S. investors can access tokenized SECZ separately through Securitize’s regulated platform.

Securitize’s rollout initially launched tokenized SECZ on Avalanche and Solana, creating what PR Newswire described as a multichain foundation for tokenized public equity from its first day as a listed company.

Carlos Domingo frames the move

Carlos Domingo, Securitize’s co-founder and CEO, said in a statement carried by CoinDesk that tokenizing its own public stock on the first day was “no hay una validación más contundente de esa creencia que la tokenización de nuestra propia acción pública desde el primer día.”

CoinDesk also quoted Domingo telling CoinDesk, “Solo queríamos predicar con el ejemplo y mostrar a las personas que si quieren emitir acciones reales en cadena, no acciones falsas, ni copias, como sea que quieran llamarlas, entonces pueden hacerlo,” as Securitize positioned the experiment as a template for public companies.

In PR Newswire’s announcement, Domingo added that “SECZ is not a synthetic token or offshore wrapper,” and described it as “issuer-sponsored tokenization of the same common stock trading on the NYSE.”

The same PR Newswire release said access for eligible U.S. investors would be subject to onboarding, KYC/AML checks, jurisdictional eligibility and applicable securities-law requirements.

Scale, valuation, and what’s next

CoinDesk reported that SECZ subió un 10 % en la sesión del jueves, su primer día tras la fusión con SPAC con Cantor Equity Partners II, and it described the tokenization launch as a milestone in a sector where banks and asset managers increasingly use blockchain to issue traditional financial assets.

Startup Fortune said Securitize completed its merger with Cantor Equity Partners II, raising roughly $400 million in gross proceeds including PIPE financing, and it reported a $1.25 billion pre-money equity valuation for the combined company.

Bitget reported that the firm’s shares were up more than 8% in their trading debut, recently changing hands at $12.75, and it said that as of June the tokenization firm had more than $4 billion in assets under management.
