KwaMakhutha House Party Attack
Three armed men opened fire on attendees at a house party in KwaMakhutha township, about 19 miles south of Durban, South Africa, killing at least 11 people and injuring three others on Tuesday night. Police said the victims included a woman believed to be pregnant, and police said Wednesday morning that a manhunt had been launched for the suspects with no arrests made yet.
Police said 13 men and one woman, who was believed to be pregnant, were reportedly having a party inside a house when three men arrived and opened fire on them. Police said some of the victims were on their watch in connection with illegal activities, and police said they could not divulge the details to protect investigations that had been launched.
Police Motive, Rival Feuds
Police said the motive for the shooting was not known, and police said they could not rule out a "feud between rival groupings". The South African Police Service said, "Although the motive of the shooting cannot be confirmed yet, feud between rival groupings cannot be ruled out," as police continued a manhunt for the suspects.

Manhunt and Tracking Operation
Acting police chief Puleng Dimpane said she activated a 72-hour tracking operation to pursue and apprehend those responsible after police launched a manhunt. Puleng Dimpane said, "There is no place in our communities for the senseless taking of human lives," and she said police must act decisively, mobilise all available resources and pursue those responsible until they were brought before the courts.
