Proposal 68 clears

ZetaChain token holders approved a plan to shut down the project’s Cosmos-based Layer 1 and migrate ZETA to Solana with 99.4% support and 58% participation, clearing the 40% quorum requirement.

The proposal ended Sunday at 10:58 a.m. ET, and it required a second, separate vote before any migration can begin.

ZetaChain said ZETA will convert one-for-one into a native Solana SPL token, with the same ticker and total supply, and vesting schedules carrying over as they are.

ZetaChain said the plan does not yet cover how staking and rewards will work after the move, and it said it has not named a shutdown date.

ZetaChain said it will not put the migration mechanics to a second vote until exchanges confirm their swap arrangements, and it said the second proposal will set the block height for a balance snapshot and the shutdown block.

What changes, what waits

ZetaChain said the vote does not immediately trigger the shutdown or migration, and it said validators will continue operating and staking rewards will continue during the transition. ZetaChain said a second proposal will detail the withdrawal window for assets linked to other blockchains, the snapshot block height, the shutdown timetable, the token claim process, and the exchange conversion period. ZetaChain said the proposal excludes ZETA tokens on Ethereum and BNB Chain from the one-for-one conversion, leaving those holders without a stated migration path.

ZetaChain said the proposal points to security and coordination pressures for a Cosmos SDK chain, including that each update must be coordinated across dozens of independent validators. ZetaChain said it expects AI tooling to make vulnerabilities easier to find, and it cited an August 25 patch as evidence that more vulnerabilities could follow.

Anuma focus and risks

ZetaChain said the migration is tied to a shift toward Anuma, a private AI app the team launched in February, and ZetaChain said the app has more than 300,000 users by its own count. ZetaChain said Anuma has handled a million requests across 35 AI models, and it said holders can already lock ZETA to earn credits to spend on the app. ZetaChain said it will redirect resources from blockchain maintenance to Anuma and its Private Memory Layer, which lets users carry encrypted context across AI models.

ZetaChain said it inherits upstream security advisories and patches because it is a Cosmos SDK chain, and it said each update must be coordinated across dozens of independent validators. ZetaChain said it suffered a $334,000 exploit in April targeting its cross-chain gateway contract, and it said the incident drained funds from ZetaChain-controlled wallets across Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base and BNB Smart Chain.
