No geographic limits
IRGC spokesman Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi warned that a war with the United States would have “no geographical limit,” and he said maximum deterrence meant ensuring that no country could take a political stance against Iran or entertain ambitions of seizing Iranian land and territory. Mohebbi said the IRGC was working to identify new targets and plan operations in new geographical areas, and he framed the remarks as following Ayatollah Hosseini Khamenei’s directives to senior military commanders. The IRGC spokesperson also said the Leader's directives have "opened a new chapter in the war," and he expressed confidence that Iran would achieve “absolute victory” in an “apocalyptic war.”
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps spokesperson Major General Hossein Mohqabi, speaking during an event in Kerman Province, said Iranian forces prevented the “enemy” from achieving its goal of toppling the regime and dividing the country, according to Tasnim News Agency. Mohqabi added that “there are no geographic constraints in the war with the United States,” and he announced that the IRGC had set new targets and plans to execute operations within a new geographic scope.
Khamenei orders buildup
Mojtaba Khamenei warned that any renewed U.S. or Israeli attack would trigger an immediate and geographically wider Iranian response, and he ordered the armed forces to expand their target lists, strengthen intelligence capabilities and accelerate weapons production.
Khamenei said Iran would determine the timing and conditions for ending any future conflict if its adversaries resumed military or terrorist attacks, and he directed an “immediate, impactful and geographically unrestricted response” to any threat.
The meeting with senior military commanders included Maj. Gen. Abdollahi, chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces, Maj. Gen. Hatami, commander of the Iranian army, and Maj. Gen. Vahidi, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
Khamenei told commanders to update their target database to bring "all U.S. and Israeli assets, tangible and intangible," within striking range, and he ordered increased production of ammunition and weapons for reconnaissance, logistical support and combat operations.
Iranian army spokesman Brig. Gen. Mohammad Akraminia reinforced Tehran’s warnings by writing on X that if the U.S. president launched another military operation against Iran alongside Israel, “the flames of war will undoubtedly engulf a much wider geographical area.”
U.S. rejects endless war
J.D. Vance said President Donald Trump would not allow the confrontation with Iran to turn into an endless war, and he told a Fox News-hosted program, “I promise you that Donald Trump will not allow Iran to become an endless war.”
Vance said Trump would achieve the country’s goals, and Trump told KCIA-AM in Kansas City, “This (war) will end soon… They want to make a deal, you know, they must make a deal.”
The Iranian state media reported on Friday quoting the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps that Iranian forces destroyed an unmanned American vessel in the eastern side of the Strait of Hormuz, and the U.S. military did not comment on the claim.
CENTCOM commander Gen. Bruce (Brad) Cooper posted a video message on X saying he visited U.S. troops in the Middle East and the Strait of Hormuz this week, and he said, “I did not see the IRGC there at all.”
Cooper also said American troops have helped partner nations in the Gulf export more than 1.5 billion barrels of crude oil since this summer, and he stressed that due to the heavy blockade of Iranian ports by American forces, Iran has not been able to export any oil.
