In a statement published by the General Directorate of the Army – Directorate of Communication, the army said: "Allegations attributed to hostile Israeli media have recently emerged concerning the army’s positions and its missions in the south, as well as other false information."
The army leadership said its elements are committed to the directives and missions entrusted to them, performing their duties by relying on their conviction of national responsibility to defend Lebanon’s sovereignty, security, and stability.
It also said the timing chosen to disseminate and spread these rumors, "in a period that is particularly delicate and sensitive," reveals the gravity of attempts to attack the army and sow doubt within the institution.
The army leadership called on all citizens to take on their national responsibilities and to refer only to official army sources regarding the military institution and its leadership.
