Rallies and the march
Iran marked the National Day of Fighting Global Arrogance with annual rallies held in more than 900 locations nationwide on Wednesday, while Tehran’s central event began at 9 a.m. from Palestine Square. Participants marched along Taleghani Street toward the former US Embassy, which Iranian accounts say was seized by Iranian students in November 1979 and later renamed to the Den of Espionage. Mostafa Rostami, head of the Central Headquarters for the Commemoration of November 4, said special programs for school and university students were arranged along the Tehran march route, including service and cultural booths and exhibitions.
The Tehran observance also featured cultural and commemorative programs, and the program in the capital included a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Mohammad Matin Hassani and performances by the Army’s military band. The Jerusalem Post described Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei’s message for the same day, saying the path to absolute deterrence lies in an "even more powerful Iran."
Deterrence and negotiations
Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei warned that Iran’s response to any renewed US aggression would be on a much greater scale, and he said Tehran’s destruction of US bases in the region and its management of the Strait of Hormuz had been part of a campaign against US hegemony. Khamenei said, "The US sees the end of its hegemony as distant; we see it as near," and he added that Washington’s hostility toward Tehran would not change through partisan shifts or concessions. Mohsen Rezaei, the Iranian Supreme National Security Council Secretary, wrote on X/Twitter that "the United States’ response regarding Iran’s rights and demands was not convincing," and he stressed that Washington must provide a full and explicit response to Iran’s seven conditions.
The Jerusalem Post said mediators including Qatar, Russia, and China were involved in efforts to achieve a breakthrough in negotiations between Tehran and Washington that could avert an American military strike. In parallel, BORNA published Khamenei’s message for the National Day of Fighting Global Arrogance, stating, "Those who hope for a change in the arrogance system's behavior are badly mistaken."
Slogans, memorials, and mobilization
In Tehran, participants carried Iranian flags and portraits of martyrs, and they chanted slogans including “Death to America” and “Death to Israel” during the 13th of Aban commemoration. The program included a pledge of allegiance to Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, and attendees chanted “Labbayk ya Seyyed Mojtaba” as the rally renewed its commitment. Alireza Zakani, the Mayor of Tehran and keynote speaker for the 13th of Aban commemoration, began his address by paying homage to Imam Khomeini and honored the students who stood firm against the hegemonic system.
Lorestan University’s Cultural and Social Affairs Department invited faculty members, staff, and students to participate in the grand rally of 13 Aban, and it set the departure time for precisely at 8:15 AM from in front of the University Transportation Department (Central Site). The university message framed November 4 as the anniversary of the seizure of the American espionage den by students following the path of Imam Khomeini (RA) in 1979 and the anniversary of Imam Khomeini’s (RA) exile from Iran to Turkey in 1964.
